Senior Supply and Demand Planner
REPORTS TO: Director, Planning
POSITION PURPOSE:
The Senior Supply and Demand Planner owns balancing supply and demand across a portfolio of products and offers in the US, Canada, and Australia. The candidate will align the forecast, set system parameters, and develop build strategies to support the business and supply chain. This role will collaborate with cross-functional partners to understand and reflect key drivers in the demand plan, including enrollment and population trends, commercial activities, and new product launches. The Senior Planner will also activate operational execution to support global markets, product launches and promotions. This role will partner closely with Field and Marketing teams to understand feasibility to support commercial activity, understand impacts to supply, develop plans to mitigate risk and deliver real-time sales and inventory tracking to measure performance and sell-thru. In this role, you will have the opportunity to present to executive leadership through monthly S&OP meetings on financial risks and opportunities.
The Senior Planner will serve as a thought leader in enhancing the monthly S&OP process and analytical tools. The ideal candidate has a growth mindset, can toggle between detailed execution and high-level analysis and is comfortable communicating up, down and across the organization. This role requires the ability to critically think through plans and develop recommendations to achieve desired outcomes and KPIs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Evaluate historical sales trends and demand patterns and develop statistical forecast models to create a bottoms up monthly forecast that reconciles to top line targets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to understand business strategies and demand drivers in commercial activities. Translate the qualitative and quantitative inputs into a strategic demand forecast.
- Conduct sensitivity analyses and develop scenario plans to project risk to liability and service levels to make recommendations on operational business decisions. Report out to cross-functional stakeholders on key takeaways and actions needed.
- Identify risk & opportunities in the supply and demand plans. Develop and align recommended actions in monthly S&OP meetings.
- Generate supply plans through MRP for assemblies and components to optimize stock levels across the global network, considering shelf-life, demand, lead times, etc.
- Communicate with global 3PL’s to manage kitting production, product expiry, and BOM/component version control to maintain supply continuity and minimize risk to service levels.
- Maintain data integrity of BOM’s and Master Data to ensure forecast is generating accurate purchase recommendations through MRP. Evaluate MRP parameters and master data for optimal and accurate values.
- Partner with Procurement and New Product Introduction (NPI) to collaborate on buy strategies, safety stock levels, and MOQ’s and summarize buying strategies through the monthly S&OP process highlighting business and financial impacts.
- Actively share out progress on launch and promotional initiatives and provide insights to forecast assumptions and supply outlook. Proactively communicate supply issues and risk mitigation plans at meetings to multiple levels of management.
- Identify areas of improvements in current planning process and recommend action plans.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, CHARACTERISTICS:
- 7+ years of Forecasting and/or Supply Chain Planning experience with strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain; Experience in beauty, CPG or regulated industries a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably with a focus on Supply Chain Management, Engineering or analytical focus.
- Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
- Analytical mindset; Energized by thinking through and solving complex challenges.
- Comfortable managing high complexity SKU’s for a global enterprise.
- Experience working with dependent demand streams across multiple levels of assemblies.
- Experience with SAP ECC or other Supply Chain ERP System (power user experience a plus).
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, Query and PowerPoint.
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced, rapid growth and evolving business environment.
